Early league economy in Path of Exile 2 is always a bit of a mess, so you've got to build around that chaos instead of fighting it, and that's where this Siege Crossbow setup shines because it's strong for grenade builds without asking you to remortgage your stash just to get started when you decide to buy PoE 2 Currency for a small boost. Exalted Orbs sit way below Divines, Chaos feels tight, and chasing mirror-tier gear is just fantasy at that stage, so the goal here is a brutally effective weapon rather than some perfect trophy. The key decision is the base: you really want a Siege Crossbow and nothing else, because the implicit is just too good and grenade builds don't care about attack speed at all, which means you can ignore that stat completely and focus on raw damage.

    Getting The Right Siege Base
The first real wall is finding an item level 82 or higher normal Siege Crossbow, and if you cut corners here you'll lock yourself out of the best physical mods like Merciless, so it's worth waiting for the right base. Once you've got it, you'll be spamming Perfect Orbs of Transmutation and Perfect Orbs of Augmentation, and yeah, most of the time you'll just roll junk and hit that "sell or vendor" feeling. What you're fishing for is Tier 1 or Tier 2 increased physical damage, and you'll know it when you see it because the numbers jump a lot. If you land a big projectile skill mod but no decent phys, don't force it; list that bow for someone else's build, take the profit, and go again instead of sinking more currency into the wrong start.

Locking In Physical Damage And Using Abyss Crafting
Once a strong percentage physical roll shows up on a magic bow, you lock it in by slamming a Greater Essence of Abrasion, which bumps it to rare and guarantees a solid Tier 3 flat physical damage line. That mix of high percent and flat phys is where the weapon starts to feel "done" for the amount you've spent, because the scaling works really well for grenades without you chasing crit or speed. From there, the big step is Abyss crafting: you'll need a Preserved Jawbone plus an Omen of the Liege and an Omen of Sinistral Necromancy ready to go. Before you start, make sure those Omens are actually active, because more than a few players have burned currency thinking they were, then use Desecrate until you hit the 101–121% increased grenade damage prefix, which is insane value on this kind of bow.

    Safe Route Or YOLO Slam
At this point you've got a serious weapon already, but there's one more layer you can add depending on your budget and appetite for pain. If you've got decent currency saved, you take the safer path: use an Omen of Dextral Crystallisation to protect the item and then hit it with a Perfect Essence of Battle to force +5 to attack skills, turning the bow into a proper endgame piece. If you're broke or just feeling reckless, you skip the Omen and Essences and start slamming Greater Exalted Orbs instead, praying for +5 or +7 to skills; sometimes it works, sometimes you just walk away shaking your head, which is very on brand for PoE. After that, clean it up with Blacksmith's Whetstones for quality, fix sockets with Artificer's Orbs, maybe slot in a Saqawal's Rune of the Sky, and if you're the kind of player who can't resist pushing their luck, you can finish with a Vaal Orb and hope it upgrades instead of bricking, understanding that you can always farm again or grab a leg up from buy game currency or items in u4gm PoE 2 Currency.
